About this species
De zakjestrilzwam (Ascotremella faginea) is een schimmel uit de familie Gelatinodiscaceae. Het is een saprotrofe soort die groeit op dood hout van loofbomen, vooral van beuk (Fagus). Ondanks de gelatineuze, op een trilzwam lijkende vruchtlichamen behoort de soort tot de zakjeszwammen.
