Margrethia obtusirostra, the Bighead portholefish, is a bristlemouth of the family Gonostomatidae, found in the tropical and subtropical Indo-Pacific and Atlantic oceans, at depths of between 100 and 600 m. Its length is between 5 and 8 cm.

Margrethia obtusirostra is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van de borstelmondvissen (Gonostomatidae). De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1919 door Jespersen & Tåning.

Margrethia obtusirostra es un pez que pertenece a la familia Gonostomatidae. Se encuentra en las aguas de los Océanos Atlántico e Indo Pacífico a profundidades que van desde los 100 hasta 600 metros.
Esta especie fue reconocida por primera vez en 1919 por Poul Christian Jespersen y Åge Vedel Tåning.
