About this species
Cathorops fuerthii, the Congo sea catfish, is a species of sea catfish. It is found in muddy and brackish waters at depths down to 20 m in the eastern Pacific from Mexico to Ecuador. Maximum recorded body length is 28 cm.

Cathorops fuerthii is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van christusvissen (Ariidae). De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1877 door Steindachner.
De soort staat op de Rode Lijst van de IUCN als Onzeker, beoordelingsjaar 2007.

富氏俯海鲇（学名：Cathorops fuerthii）为辐鳍鱼纲鲇形目海鲇科的其中一种，分布于东太平洋区，从墨西哥至厄瓜多尔的淡水、半咸水、咸水水域，体长可达28公分，栖息在底层水域，属肉食性，生活习性不明，可做为食用鱼。
