The doctorfish tang (Acanthurus chirurgus), also known as the doctorfish, is a species of marine ray-finned fish belonging to the family Acanthuridae, the surgeonfishes, unicornfishes and tangs. These fishes are found in the western Atlantic Ocean.

Acanthurus chirurgus is een straalvinnige vis uit de familie van doktersvissen (Acanthuridae), orde baarsachtigen (Perciformes), die voorkomt in het noordwesten, het westen, het oosten en het zuidwesten van de Atlantische Oceaan.

El Acanthurus chirurgus es un pez cirujano, de la familia de los acantúridos. Sus nombres comunes en español son cirujano rayado, barbero rayado, o sangrador rayado. En algunas áreas de distribución es una especie común y se utiliza como alimento. Aunque raramente, su ingesta puede producir ciguatera en humanos, provocando problemas gastrointestinales y debilidad en brazos y piernas durante varios días. La causa son los dinoflagelados que el pez ingiere al pastar en corales muertos y algas, ya que contienen una toxina que, dependiendo de la cantidad consumida, provoca el envenenamiento.

小带刺尾鱼，为辐鳍鱼纲鲈形目刺尾鱼亚目刺尾鱼科的其中一个种。1787年，德国医生兼博物学家Marcus Elieser Bloch首次将本种正式描述为Chaetodon chirurgus，其模式产地为马提尼克岛。
