About this species
Caulophryne jordani, or the fanfin angler, is a species of marine ray-finned fish belonging to the family Caulophrynidae, the fanfins. This species is a deepwater species which is found in Oceanic waters around the world. Like other deepwater anglerfishes it shows extreme sexual dimorphism with the males being much smaller than the females and acting as sexual parasites of the females.

Caulophryne jordani is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van diepzeehengelvissen (Caulophrynidae). De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1896 door Goode & Bean.

乔氏茎角𩽾𩾌（学名：Caulophryne jordani），又称乔氏长鳍𩽾𩾌，是辐鳍鱼纲𩽾𩾌目棘茄鱼亚目长鳍𩽾𩾌科的其中一种。分布于全球各大洋水深100 至 10000 米之深海处。其特征为第二背鳍、臀鳍及尾鳍均呈极长之丝状延长；体茶褐色；背鳍软条 16 枚；臀鳍软条 17 枚。体长可达 20 公分。雄鱼极小，寄生在雌鱼身上。无任何经济利用价值。
