About this species
Perithemis lais is een libellensoort uit de familie van de korenbouten (Libellulidae), onderorde Anisoptera (echte libellen). De wetenschappelijke naam van deze soort is voor het eerst voorgesteld als Libellula lais door Josef Anton Maximilian Perty in een publicatie uit 1834.
De soort komt voor in Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, Frans-Guyana, Brazilië, Ecuador, Peru, Paraguay en Argentinië.
Perithemis lais staat op de Rode Lijst van de IUCN als niet bedreigd, beoordelingsjaar 2007.
