About this species
Paralithoxus planquettei is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish belonging to the family Loricariidae, the suckermouth armoured catfishes, and the subfamily Hypostominae, the suckermouth catfishes. This catfish is found in French Guiana, Suriname and Brazil where it is found in stony rivulets of the Atlantic coastal drainages between the Maroni and the Kaw River basin. This species grows to a standard length of 7.0 cm (2.8 in).

Lithoxus planquettei is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van de harnasmeervallen (Loricariidae). De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1982 door Boeseman.
