About this species
Typha angustifolia is a perennial herbaceous plant in the genus Typha, native throughout most of Eurasia and locally in northwest Africa; it also occurs widely in North America, where its native status is disputed. It is an "obligate wetland" species that is found in fresh water or brackish locations. It is known in British English as lesser bulrush, and in North American English as narrowleaf cattail.

La totora, espadaña o anea (Typha angustifolia), es una planta perenne herbácea del género Typha de la familia Typhaceae. Esta totora se encuentra en casi todos los continentes, con excepción de Oceanía, en lugares pantanosos. En Norteamérica, es una planta introducida. También se encuentra en algunos humedales de Perú y Chile. Typha angustifolia convive en su rango con Typha latifolia, con la que se hibrida como Typha × glauca (Typha angustifolia × T. latifolia). La espadaña común se encuentra generalmente en aguas menos profundas que la espadaña de hoja estrecha.

水烛（学名：Typha angustifolia）又称蒲草、狭叶香蒲、草蒲黄，是香蒲科香蒲属的植物。分布于印度、俄罗斯、尼泊尔、巴基斯坦、美洲及大洋洲、台湾、欧洲、日本以及中国大陆的吉林、河北、山东、内蒙古、江苏、黑龙江、陕西、甘肃、辽宁、河南、新疆、云南、湖北等地，生长于海拔50米至2,800米的地区，常生长在水边、沼泽中。
