Acanthostracion quadricornis is een straalvinnige vis uit de familie van de koffervissen (Ostraciidae). De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is, als Ostracion quadricornis voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1758 door Carl Linnaeus in de tiende editie van Systema naturae. De vis kan een lengte bereiken van 55 centimeter.

四角三棱角箱鲀为辐鳍鱼纲鲀形目鳞鲀亚目箱鲀科的其中一种，为热带海水鱼，分布于西大西洋区，从美国麻州至巴西东南方海域，栖息深度可达80米，在头部与身体上的深色斑纹;颊上有平行的条纹，成对的突出棘在眼睛前面及胸部后下方，覆盖着六角形骨板，体长可达55公分，栖息于水质清澈的海草床，以珊瑚、海绵、甲壳类、海葵等为食，生活习性不明，可作为食用鱼及观赏鱼，有雪卡鱼毒的纪录。
