Centropomus parallelus is a species of fish in the family Centropomidae, the snooks and robalos. It is known by several common names, including fat snook, smallscale fat snook, little snook, and chucumite. It is native to the western Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico, its distribution extending from southern Florida in the United States to southern Brazil near Florianópolis.

Centropomus parallelus o róbalo gordo es una especie de pez del género Centropomus, familia Centropomidae, orden Perciformes. Fue descrita científicamente por Poey en 1860.
Es una especie inofensiva para el ser humano, poco comercializada en pesquerías. Se alimenta de peces y crustáceos.

小锯盖鱼为辐鳍鱼纲鲈形目鲈亚目锯盖鱼科的一种，分布于西大西洋佛罗里达南部至墨西哥淡水、半咸水及海域，体长可达72公分，栖息在沿海潟湖及河口底层水域，属肉食性，以甲壳类及鱼类为食，生活习性不明，可做为食用鱼及游钓鱼。
