About this species

The spotfin hogfish or Cuban hogfish (Bodianus pulchellus) is a species of wrasse native to the Atlantic Ocean, where it is mainly found from North Carolina to Brazil, through the Caribbean. It has also been recorded from São Tomé off the coast of West Africa. This species inhabits reefs, both rock and coral, where it occurs at depths of 15 to 120 m (49 to 394 ft) though rarely deeper than 24 m (79 ft).
