Halichoeres poeyi is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van lipvissen (Labridae). De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1867 door Steindachner.
De soort staat op de Rode Lijst van de IUCN als niet bedreigd, beoordelingsjaar 2008.

波氏海猪鱼，为辐鳍鱼纲鲈形目隆头鱼亚目隆头鱼科的其中一种，分布于西大西洋区，从美国佛罗里达州南部至巴西圣保罗海域，栖息深度1-15公尺，体长可达20公分，栖息在水质清澈的海草床，生活习性不明，可作为观赏鱼。
