Tafelberg is a sandstone table mountain, or tepui, in the heart of Suriname. Its plateau rises about 1,026 m above sea level and around a kilometre above the surrounding forest, and it lies within the Central Suriname Nature Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
There are no roads or facilities. Visits are rare, multi-day expeditions with camping, hikes to waterfalls and viewpoints, and rough climbs over rock. It suits fit travellers who want one of the most remote landscapes in the Guianas.
