Plantage Frederiksdorp is a plantation resort on the Commewijne River combining a small museum, a slavery heritage trail and riverfront accommodation. Reached by boat from Paramaribo, the site is one of the best-preserved plantation estates in Suriname and worth the trip for anyone interested in the country's colonial history.
