Openluchtmuseum Fort Nieuw-Amsterdam

Commewijne, Suriname

An open-air museum inside the walls of Fort Nieuw-Amsterdam, at the point where the Suriname and Commewijne rivers meet. The fort was built between 1734 and 1747 and the museum opened in 1968. A permanent exhibition on Anton de Kom, made with the Dutch Open-Air Museum, opened in March 2025.
