The Landbouwmarkt Kwatta is a large farmers' market on the Kwattaweg in Kwatta, just west of Paramaribo, where growers from the area and Saramacca sell straight to the public. Expect fresh vegetables, fruit, root crops, herbs and smoked fish, a covered fish and meat hall, and a food court for bara and saoto. Market days are Wednesday and Sunday mornings, and Sunday is the busiest. The market is run by the Stichting S. Kisoensingh Landbouwmarkt Kwatta, has about 700 vendors and opened a new fish hall in November 2025.
