Every Sunday morning plant growers sell orchids, potted and ornamental plants and young fruit trees at the Cultuurtuin on the Letitia Vriesdelaan in Paramaribo, next to the zoo. Many vendors are members of the Surinamese orchid and ornamental plant society, which makes it the place to find local orchids. The market runs from about 8 or 9 in the morning until around 1 in the afternoon. There are no cut flowers.
